Azmin on beer fest: Organisers must follow the rules
PORT KLANG: Organisers have to follow the stipulated rules set by the state government and local councils, said Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali Azmin (pic).
"For any event, organisers have to follow the stipulated rules set by the state and local councils.
''Even for a wedding, the host has to get approval from the local council to do it. That is the state's policy,'' he said at the launch of the RM5.5bil Selangor Bio Bay in Pulau Indah here Sunday.
However, Azmin did not respond when asked if Selangor would allow the Better Beer Festival 2017 should the organiser apply for a permit to hold the event.
Asked if the organiser had applied to hold the beer festival in Selangor, Azmin said he was not sure because his office did not handle such applications.
''I am not sure because this takes place at the local council level. It doesn't reach the state government level,'' he added.
The Better Beer Festival 2017 was initially set to be held on Oct 6 and 7 at the Publika Shopping Gallery, Kuala Lumpur. However, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) rejected the application, citing security concerns.
