Bachelor falls to his death from seventh floor of apartment

KUALA LUMPUR: A self-employed man fell to his death after he could no longer endure harassment from loan sharks.

Ampang Jaya Deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Zaid Hassan said the 32-year-old bachelor is believed to have fallen from the seventh floor of a flat unit in Bukit Indah Ampang.

His body was found in the building's parking lot on Friday afternoon.

"No one saw it happen but some witnesses said they heard a loud crash," he said.

The victim was found bleeding from his head and feet and is believed to have also broken his hands from the fall.

Supt Mohd Zaid said investigators found a mobile phone in the victim's pocket with many payment demands believed to be from the loan sharks.

The case has been classified as sudden death and the body was sent to Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for post-mortem.
