Cops lend helping hand to accident victim

SERDANG: Two policemen rescued a man who met with an accident in Bukit Serdang, Selangor on Wednesday morning.

The duo, from the Serdang police station just south of Kuala Lumpur, took the victim to a nearby clinic for treatment after he fell off his motorcycle while making a U-turn during a heavy downpour.

The victim's daughter Charlene Chea expressed her gratitude to the policemen through a Facebook posting.

In her post, Chea wrote that she was thankful the policemen came to her father's aid.

"Initially, no one helped my father but luckily the policemen in their MPV (mobile patrol vehicle) were in the neighbourhood.

"One of them took him to a clinic while the other brought his motorcycle home," she said.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Megat Mohammad Aminudin Megat Alias commended his men for their outstanding actions.

"They are a good example to other officers.

"Their actions embody our motto that 'police and society are inseparable'," he said when contacted.
