Hypermart‘s 19th store opens in Kota Damansara
HUNDREDS of shoppers thronged NSK (New Seng Kee) Trade City in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya when it opened its doors.
Trolleys were filled to the brim as shoppers made a beeline towards aisles of products and produce with unbelievably attractive price tags.
They were seen queuing up an hour before the hypermarket opened for business at 10am.
The retail and wholesale chain was first established in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur in 1988 and NSK Kota Damansara marks its 19th store.
Spanning 21,368sq m, the hypermarket combines two concepts – retail and wholesale business – for the neighbouring communities as well as hawkers in the area.
According to NSK Trading Sdn Bhd executive chairman CB Lim, the group invested more than RM10mil in this new outlet.
“NSK Trade City aims to continuously provide its customers with fresh produce and products at affordable prices,” he said.
He added that with business hours being from 7am to midnight, this would not only be convenient for residents, but also for hawkers to buy their supplies before beginning their business for the day.
NSK Group executive adviser Datuk C.S. Lim said the group planned to open another three new stores by this year.
“The 20th store will open its doors in Jalan Peel, Cheras by the end of this month while we’re looking to open the other two in the southern region in the coming months,” he revealed.
CS Lim said with the opening of four new stores this year, the NSK group was expecting to garner higher revenue, surpassing that in 2017 which amounted to more than RM1bil.
In conjunction with the opening of NSK Trade City Kota Damansara, the hypermarket is treating customers to a wide range of special deals and promotions until Jan 21.
While the first 2,000 shoppers got to buy a whole chicken for only RM1 each on the first day, N-Card members can buy a 5kg pack of rice at RM1 from now until Jan 14.
NSK’s N-Card members will not only enjoy special member prices up to 10% lower than normal prices, but can also collect points to redeem attractive gifts.
Shoppers can also look forward to Chinese New Year promotions that will begin end of this month.
