IGP Fuzi accepts wife's death with heavy heart
SHAH ALAM: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, whose wife died at the University Malaya Medical Centre here Friday (Dec 15), said he accepted her death with a heavy heart.
He said his wife received prolonged treatment since she was diagnosed with cancer in 2002.
“Thank you all for the messages of condolences and prayers. Please forgive the deceased if she had wronged you,” he said in a brief speech after the funeral prayers.
"My wife had requested that her remains be buried next to our only son who died in 2007,” he said.
The remains of Puan Sri Azizah Hamdi, would be taken to Rapat Jaya, Ipoh for burial at 9am Saturday (Dec 16).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has extended his condolences to Mohamad Fuzi and his family over the passing of Azizah.
Najib, who is currently on a three-day official visit to Bahrain, also prayed for blessings for Azizah's soul.
“Condolences to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri @Fuzi_Harun and family on the demise of his wife, Puan Sri Azizah Hamdi. May her soul be blessed. Al-Fatihah,” Najib said on his Twitter Friday.
Azizah, who was the Police Families Association chairman, also leaves behind three children. - Bernama
