Less-than-smooth traffic this weekend with PJ Half Marathon on
DRIVERS in Petaling Jaya may encounter traffic congestion this weekend as certain roads in the city will be closed from Saturday 3pm onwards to accommodate the 30th PJ Half Marathon, which takes place on Sunday.
The event, which comprises races over 3km, 10km, 21km and 30km, is centred around Dataran Petaling Jaya on Jalan Timur, with the 30km race being the first to flag off at 4.45am.
The races are expected to wrap up before 11am.
Roads included in the race routes will be closed – beginning on Saturday with two of PJ's main arteries. Parts of Jalan Persiaran Barat will be off-limits to cars from 3pm on Saturday to 11am on Sunday, and a stretch of Jalan Timur will be closed from 5pm on Saturday to 11am the following day.
Other roads will be also closed periodically on Sunday by the police from 4.45am to 11am.
