Mall management puts a stop to PKR flash mob in Johor Baru
JOHOR BARU: A group of PKR members staged a flash mob in Johor Baru city centre to create awareness among Johoreans working in Singapore to return to vote on May 9.
However, after 20 minutes of members shouting out their slogan “Balik balik, undi balik”, they were stopped by the management of Komtar JBCC mall.
Among the PKR members were Bukit Batu assemblyman Jimmy Phua Wee Tse and Johor Baru branch chief Akmal Nasir.
A spokesman from Komtar JBCC said they stopped the flash mob because the management did not allow any political party to stage flash mobs in the area.
“We do not want to be biased towards any political party.”
Akmal said the group dispersed right after they were told to leave.
They lasted for about 40 minutes but Pua said the public response was positive.
“There were motorists tooting their car horns in support,” he added. — By ZUNAIRA SAIEED
