Men on motorbike smash car window, splash acid - cops question five

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have questioned five people in relation to an acid attack along Jalan Raja Chulan here that injured one man. 

However investigators have yet to record the statement of the victim due to his condition. 

“He is scheduled for surgery today at 3pm. His condition is stable,” said Dang Wangi Deputy OCPD Rudy Abdullah in a statement on Thursday (July 12). 

He added that the police are still identifying the suspects, whom they believe to be in their 40s. 

On Tuesday (July 10), a man suffered burns on his body after acid was splashed on him. 

A complainant informed the police that he saw two men on a blue motorcycle smash the window of the victim's car, before throwing the acid. 

Police believe that the suspects had their faces covered and were wearing black jackets and black helmets. 

The victim was alone in the car at the time, and was taken to the hospital by members of the public. 

The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt.
