Muhyiddin has successful surgery, Dr M to helm Home Ministry temporarily
PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will take a one-month break from helming the Home Ministry after a successful operation to extract a pancreatic tumour, which was detected at an early stage.
“Alhamdulilah, the operation was successful and he is in a stable condition.
“He will take a break from today (July 12) onwards and is expected to return to duty within a month,” said Home Ministry press secretary Hafiz Abdul Halim in a statement.
During his absence, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will take over Muhyiddin’s responsibilities as Home Minister.
