Najib remains coy on GE14 date

WASHINGTON D.C.: As the rest of the country is still speculating whether the 14th general election will be held this year, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (pic) remained coy when asked on the subject.

Najib who just ended a high profile and successful three-day working visit to Washington said he still have a long time before deciding to call for it.

"One year is a long time. They say two weeks is a long time in politics," a jovial Najib replied when told he has less than one year to hold the elections.

"You want me to announce something in Washington? You have got to be kidding," he laughed.

The elections must be called by August next year.

When asked that the timing is right because many things were in his favour, the prime minister replied:"Really? You think so. Just wait first, I might get brainwave. Godwilling."
