Selangor cops set up task force to investigate gang activities in schools in Klang
SHAH ALAM: Selangor police have set up a task force to investigate gang activities in schools in Klang following viral videos of a group of motorcyclists causing a commotion outside a school in Taman Sri Andalas.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said although the motive for the commotion was still under investigation, 18 individuals have been remanded to assist with investigations.
"We arrested 13 students from schools in the area and five youths who were working as mechanics and security guards.
"We have remanded them for four days to assist in investigations," he told reporters at the Selangor police headquarters on Friday.
The arrests came after two separate videos of a group of motorcyclists causing a commotion and acting rowdy outside a school went viral on Thursday night.
In the first video clip — lasting 1.14min — the group is seen shouting and revving their engines outside the school.
They were also seen holding up banners, one of which had the letter "24", "TD4" and a black swastika.
The second video starts with a close-up of a cake with the words "SMK Sri Andalas", "24" and "Apache" written on it.
At least one of the motorcyclists in the second clip is seen wearing a school uniform.
The location and time of the 24-second footage appears to be the same as the first.
