Support call to embrace diversity

I SUPPORT the call by Gan Ping Sieu, co-president of the Centre for a Better Tomorrow (Cenbet), to embrace diversity in light of the ban on the use of headscarves imposed on employees in hotels. Of late, sensitive issues have been thrust into the limelight, causing discomfort among the rakyat.

Our beloved nation cannot afford to be saddled with problems that may derail our integration as 1Malaysia. We need to be strong to withstand any attempt to disrupt our harmonious and peaceful state.

The Government must take firm steps to neutralise any attempt to create disharmony. All Malaysians must also rise up and support the efforts and initiatives taken by the Government on this matter. We must play our role!

The sensitivity of all Malaysians must be taken into consideration. There is no one who is above the law, and each and everyone of us must respect one another to make our country better.
