TNB engineer nabbed for alleged graft
PETALING JAYA: An engineer with the planning division of Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has been nabbed by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly soliciting a RM32,000 bribe.
The 53-year-old suspect was picked up at the Shah Alam City Council parking lot at about 3pm on Wednesday.
Sources said the suspect had solicited the bribe from a TNB client to fast track an application submitted last December.
The application was for upgrading of the electricity supply at a factory in Shah Alam, and the alleged bribes were said to have been paid in two instalments.
However, the application was not processed.
MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Azam Baki confirmed the arrest.
