Teenagers rounded up at KLCC in SEA Games clean up

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 249 teenagers and children were detained at KLCC during a special operation conducted by police ahead of the SEA Games.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Sukri Kaman said the operation on Saturday night was carried following complaints of teenagers disturbing tourists and visitors.

"Police want to create a peaceful atmosphere especially during the SEA Games. I advise teenagers to behave and respect the visitors and tourists in the area," he told reporters.

ACP Sukri said those detained were aged 10 to 17 and weapons such as knives, a knuckle duster and drugs, including an Erimin 5 pill and a packet of Syabu, were seized from them.

"All of them will be taken to the district police headquarters for documentation purposes as well as urine tests," he said.
