North and South America offer many activities for adrenaline junkies, and here are some of them that should be on your bucket list:
1. Zipline in Quebec or Ontario, Canada
Imagine soaring through the treetops like Tarzan (or perhaps one of his apes?) through Canadian forests, but without the fear of falling! Now, you can, when you go ziplining in Montreal.
All the safety equipment like helmet and harness are provided and there are even courses that you can take. For more info, visit: arbraska.com/en/
2. Experience zero gravity like an astronaut in USA
Do you have what it takes to be an astronaut? Do you wish to experience what it’s like to be in zero-gravity conditions? If you’re in the United States, you can try this on board the G-force One, a Boeing 727 aircraft manned by specially trained pilots to perform 15 aerobatic manoeuvres called parabolas to create 20-30 seconds of weightlessness each time.
Flight locations include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington. For more info, visit: www.gozerog.com
3, Paragliding over Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
What better way to enjoy the spectacular Rio De Janeiro skyline than to paraglide? Take in views of the sea and surf, beaches, mountains and city during your flight.
Lessons are available and so are tandem flights where an instructor goes up with you. For more info, visit: www.getyourguide.com/rio-de-janeiro-l9/paragliding-tc90/
4. Trek the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, Peru
There are many trails that you can trek to get to Machu Picchu, the magical “lost city” of Peru. These include the Classic Inca Trail and the Salkantay trail.
All of them offer spectacular views of mountain ranges, plant and animal life, as well as cultural archaeological sites.
So, if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, this is the adventure for you. For more info, visit: www.machupicchutrek.net
5. Kayaking or canoeing down the Amazon River in South America
The mighty Amazon that flows through several countries in South America, including Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador, before emptying itself into the Atlantic Ocean, is the biggest river in the world in terms of the amount of water it contains.
One of the best ways to explore it is by kayak or canoe. Imagine paddling over still waters, passing by tropical rainforests … even floating forests … with the chirping of birds and insects piercing the silence of the jungle. You might chance across exotic wildlife species too.
